The paragraph is the unit of thought

Bullet outlines feel like progress because they are fast. They are fast because they let you skip the part where you find out whether you have an idea.

Write the outline as full sentences instead. Each one becomes a paragraph’s opening line, and the gaps in the argument show up immediately — while they are still cheap to fix.
