Sixty drafts later
What a year of unfinished posts teaches you about the ones you do publish.
Sixty drafts, nine published. The ratio looked like failure until I read the drafts in one sitting.
Almost all of them stop in the same place: the paragraph where the easy version of the argument runs out. The published nine are simply the ones where I kept going past it.
The tell
When a draft starts listing examples instead of making a claim, it has already stalled. The fix is never another example.
